What happened

In the early morning hours, a twin engine cargo aircraft departed from Recife-Guarmarapes Airport to perform a multi-stop delivery mission involving medical supplies. The flight itinerary included several scheduled stops at Patos, Sousa, Mossoró, Caicó, and Currais Novos.

During the final segment of the journey, traveling from Currais Novos back toward Recife, the aircraft was in its approach phase to Recife-Guararapes Airport. After a total flight duration of 3 hours and 50 minutes, the aircraft suffered a simultaneous failure of both engines.

Following the loss of power, the crew declared an emergency and initiated an immediate landing attempt. During the descent, the aircraft struck power lines and trees. The flight ended when the plane crashed into a forested area situated approximately 17 km before reaching runway 18. The impact resulted in two injuries and the aircraft was determined to be a total loss.
