What happened

On the morning of 16 October 2025, a Cessna 206H Stationair, registration TL-ADE, was conducting an international flight from Manzini King Mswati III International Aerodrome in Eswatini to Kruger Mpumalanga International Aerodrome in South Africa. The flight was intended to reposition the aircraft for refueling.

After the aircraft failed to arrive at its destination as scheduled, air traffic controllers initiated an alert phase. Despite search and rescue efforts being hampered by poor weather, the wreckage was eventually located on 18 October 20 and found in a mountainous area of the Songimvelo Nature Reserve, south of Barberton. The impact was high-energy and resulted in the destruction of the aircraft and one fatality.
