The plot circled and dragged the landing area. The approach was begun on instruments and due to darkness, no flare path was laid out or had been requested and no lights to aid landing were illuminated. After the seaplane impacted the water surface, it water looped and came to rest in 8-feet of water. All eight crew members were rescued.
