The single engine airplane departed Mahdia Airfield around 0809LT on a cargo flight to Imbaimadai, with an ETA at 0840LT. The pilot was sole on board. About 20 minutes into the fight, while cruising at an altitude of 6,500 feet in poor weather conditions, the airplane contacted trees and crashed in a dense wooded area located on the slope of a mountain in the region of Cuyuni-Mazaruni.
