After liftoff from Port Moresby-Berry Field (12 Mile Drome) at a speed of 65 knots, the airplane was unable to gain sufficient height. The pilot attempted to land but the airplane crashed back onto the runway. Upon impact, the undercarriage collapsed and the airplane came to rest on its belly. The pilot escaped uninjured.
