A6-ECE, an Emirates Airlines Boeing B777-300 aircraft operating as UAE229, was advised of strong crosswinds at its destination, Seattle-Tacoma Intl, WA (KSEA). The crew elected to divert to Vancouver Intl, BC (CYVR) and declared an emergency due to low fuel. The flight landed without further event.
