While performing a training exercise out from RAF Millom, the twin engine airplane crashed in unknown circumstances into the Irish Sea off the airbase. All five crew members were killed. Crew: F/Sgt Stanley Pelham James, Sgt Vernon John Deering, Sgt William John Oouseby, Lac Robert Edward Baker, Lac Gerald Ivor Buckman.
