The single engine airplane entered an area of heavy rain falls when the pilot lost control of the airplane that entered a dive and crashed about 10 km north of Baie-Comeau. All five occupants were killed.

Some 40 minutes after take-off, the a/c was seen flying over a lake at 300 to 400 ft agl, then disappearing into low cloud. Five minutes later, two fishermen on another lake heard engine noise but could not see the a/c…
