A03F0096: Control of the Piper PA-22-150 aircraft, registration C-FKLW, was lost during landing on runway 24 at the Roanoke, Virginia airport. This loss of control resulted in substantial damage to the aircraft. The winds at the time of landing were reported to be from 290 degrees at 19 knots with gusts to 30 knots.
