THE PILOT ELECTED TO RETURN AND LAND AT HIS HOME AIRPORT WHEN THE AIRCRAFT'S LANDING GEAR FAILED TO RETRACT AFTER A NIGHT TAKEOFF. AFTER REENTERING THE TRAFFIC PATTERN THE PILOT CHANGED HIS FUEL SELECTOR TO THE LEFT TANK FOR LANDING.
