THE PLT REPORTED A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD AND HE OBSERVED THE LEFT ENG COWL RAISED TO A VERTICAL POSITION & THE ENG DROOPED DOWNWARD. THE EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF DRAG CAUSED THE ACFT TO BE UNCONTROLLABLE. THE PLT WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE ACFT BY FEATHERING THE RIGHT ENG. A GEAR-UP LANDING WAS MADE IN A PASTURE.
