    The twin engine airplane departed San Angelo, Texas, on a flight to Pretoria, South Africa, with intermediate stops in Gander, Iceland and Europe. Both occupants were South African citizens returning home. Shortly after takeoff from runway 22, the aircraft climbed steeply and started a low altitude right turn.
