    On January 10, 1954, a Fullerton Oil Company Douglas A-26B crashed into a densely populated area of Burbank, California, shortly after takeoff. The aircraft, registration N65Y, had departed from Grand Central Airport in Glendale at approximately 0925P. There were no passengers on board; the crew consisted of Pilot David Thayer and Copilot Larry Bassett.
