The dc-8, carrying 80 55-gallon drums of oil additive, was levelling at fl350 when the crew decided to return to gander because of toxic fumes in the aircraft.a leaking drum was found at position #7, forward of the wing root area. An inspecton at gander revealed that a drum seal had failed.
