THE PILOT TOLD ATC (AFTER BEING ASKED) THAT HIS RIDE WAS 'SMOOTH SO FAR'. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE AIRCRAFT STARTED VEERING RIGHT OF ITS ASSIGNED HEADING.
