DURING LANDING APPROACH THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND IN AN OPEN FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT FAILED TO CLEAR A TERRACE AND THE NOSE GEAR SEPARATED FROM THE AIRPLANE.
