The single engine airplane departed Khandyga-Teply Klyuch Airport on a patrol mission with six passengers and two pilots on board. En route, the engine failed and the crew decided to return to Khandyga but was eventually forced to attempt an emergency landing when the airplane crashed in a dense wooded area, bursting into flames. All eight occupants were rescued, among them a pilot was injured. Probable cause (official findings): Engine failure in flight.
