The single engine airplane departed Bhubaneswar-Biju Patnaik Airport at 1220LT on a schedule service to Rourkela, carrying four passengers and two pilots. Following an uneventful flight at an altitude of 8,000 feet, the crew started the descent to Rourkela when he encountered an unexpected situation and declared an emergency at 1314LT.
