Aer Lingus operates rare A330 widebody on Dublin-Brussels service
The Irish carrier substituted an Airbus A330-300 for its usual A320 on a short European route on 9 September, offering extra capacity for a single rotation.

Aer Lingus put an Airbus A330-300 on its Dublin–Brussels route on Wednesday, 9 September. The widebody flew the morning service and returned to Ireland as flight EI631, leaving Brussels at 11:39 and landing in Dublin at 11:50 local time.
The airline usually operates this route with an Airbus A320 seating about 174 passengers. The A330-300 used that day had around 315 seats, 30 of them business class.
No official reason was given for the one-off change. It could have come down to operational needs, aircraft positioning, or higher demand. Flight records identify the aircraft as an A330-300, not an A330-200 as initially reported.
Schedules show the route back on A320 operation on 10 September. A further A330-300 rotation appeared on 20 September.
