Aeroflot to receive first eight Yakovlev MS-21s in late 2027
Aeroflot's CEO says the carrier will take its first eight Yakovlev MS-21 aircraft in Q4 2027, with ten more in 2028. Crew and maintenance training begins in 2027, and initial routes will be short-haul sectors like Moscow-St. Petersburg.
Aeroflot expects its first eight Yakovlev MS-21 aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2027. Ten more are due in 2028. CEO Sergei Alexandrovsky said these delivery dates are now fixed. Pilot, cabin crew and technical staff training begins in 2027.
The airline will start flying the new jets on short routes where technical support and replacement capacity are easy to reach. Moscow–St. Petersburg and Moscow–Nizhny Novgorod were named as examples. The second production MS-21-310 has been prepared for ground tests and then flight testing.
