Air India Frankfurt-Delhi flight diverted to Jaipur after 7500 squawk
An Air India Boeing 787-9 bound for Delhi was diverted to Jaipur on Wednesday after squawking 7500, the transponder code for unlawful interference. It is the third such alert in under two weeks.

An Air India flight from Frankfurt to Delhi diverted to Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday morning after the crew transmitted transponder code 7500, the signal for hijacking or unlawful interference. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 registered VT-TSE flying as AI2030, landed safely at about 9:35 a.m. local time.
All 306 passengers and crew were reported safe. After touchdown the Dreamliner was moved to a remote isolation bay, where emergency and security personnel evacuated those on board under supervision while security agencies swept the aircraft as a precaution.
Ahmedabad Air Traffic Control reportedly received the 7500 signal while the flight was en route, then diverted it to Jaipur under standard emergency procedures.
Investigations are ongoing and no cause has been conclusively established. Preliminary reports suggest the flight crew may have triggered the signal inadvertently, though authorities have not confirmed this.
It is the third time in less than two weeks that a commercial airliner has squawked 7500. On September 30, 2026, a Flydubai flight, FZ1073, bound for Tel Aviv transmitted the code during a violent altercation in the cockpit. On October 13, 2026, a Corendon Airlines flight, XR456, also squawked 7500, according to the source.
