Allegiant Air announced plans to introduce a new first-class-style cabin, called Allegiant First, starting in spring 2027 as a complement to its existing Extra legroom product.

Allegiant Air has announced a new premium cabin option, branded Allegiant First, set to begin flying in spring 2027. According to the carrier, the new offering will feature two rows of seats arranged in a 2-2 configuration, totaling eight seats per aircraft.

The airline said the product will be positioned above its existing Allegiant Extra option, which provides extra legroom, rather than replacing it. Allegiant Extra was introduced in 2019 and expanded in 2022 as part of the carrier's gradual move toward offering more differentiated cabin experiences, including on its Boeing 737 MAX fleet.

According to the company, Allegiant First will be sold as a fare bundle that includes ancillary perks such as a cabin bag allowance and a checked bag of up to 70 pounds. Complimentary drinks were also mentioned as part of the enhanced experience, though full details of pricing and amenities have not yet been disclosed.

Drew Wells, Allegiant's Chief Commercial Officer, said the airline sees an opportunity to expand its premium and complimentary offerings in ways that strengthen customer experience and support the long-term growth of the company, which he described as part of a broader combined entity. Wells added that travelers are increasingly seeking more comfort, personalization, and flexibility in air travel.

The move reflects a continued shift by Allegiant, historically known as an ultra-low-cost carrier, toward offering more premium services as it seeks to diversify revenue streams ahead of the 2027 rollout.
