Alliance Airlines names Steven Greenway as new CEO
Australian charter and ACMI carrier Alliance Airlines has appointed former flyadeal chief Steven Greenway as its next CEO, succeeding long-serving Stewart Tully from October 2026.
Alliance Airlines, the Australian ACMI, contract and charter operator, has named Steven Greenway as its incoming Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2026. He replaces Stewart Tully, the company's Managing Director and CEO, who is stepping down after more than 11 years in the role.
According to Alliance, Tully will stay on with the business until October 29, 2026, to support a handover period. The leadership change follows a revised wet lease arrangement with Qantas and other organizational changes the company disclosed to the market in August 2026.
Alliance operates a fleet of more than 70 aircraft and describes itself as Australia's leading provider of specialized aviation services. During Tully's tenure, the company said it diversified its business, expanded fleet and engineering capacity, and built long-term customer relationships.
Alliance chair James Jackson praised Tully's contribution, saying he guided the business through a difficult period and strengthened its strategy and operations. Tully said it had been a privilege to work with Alliance's staff, leadership team and partners, and expressed confidence in the company's future.
Greenway previously led Saudi low-cost carrier flyadeal. According to the company, he brings more than 25 years of aviation leadership experience across Australia, Asia and the Middle East. Further details of his prior roles were not fully specified in the announcement.
The appointment marks a leadership transition for Alliance as it moves into what it called its next phase of strategic execution.
