ANA Group's trading arm acquires Japanese retailer Akomeya Tokyo

ANA Trading, the retail subsidiary of ANA Group, is taking full ownership of the Japanese food and houseware brand Akomeya Tokyo. The purchase price was not disclosed.

ANA Group is expanding its business outside aviation. Its trading subsidiary, ANA Trading, is acquiring 100 percent of the Japanese retail brand Akomeya Tokyo from Sazaby League. No purchase price was given.

Akomeya Tokyo focuses on rice, Japanese food products, tableware and cooking utensils. It runs 38 stores, two restaurants and an online shop.

ANA Trading already has a large retail presence at airports. Through ANA Festa it operates shops and Starbucks branches at 25 Japanese airports, along with duty-free stores at Tokyo Haneda and Narita.

The company said the airport network of ANA Trading is to be combined with the product range and sales expertise of Akomeya Tokyo.
