Air Arabia's Saudi budget carrier to start domestic flights from Dammam
The new Saudi low-cost carrier set up by Air Arabia and partners will begin flying on 20 September, serving three domestic destinations from Dammam.
A new Saudi low-cost carrier backed by Air Arabia starts flying on 20 September, with services from Dammam to three domestic destinations.
It will fly twice daily to Riyadh and Jeddah and once a day to Medinah, using Airbus A320-family aircraft.
Air Arabia set up the airline with Nesma Group and Kun Investment. The Saudi civil aviation regulator has issued its air operator's certificate.
Adel Ali, Air Arabia's group chief executive, called the launch from King Fahd international airport a strategic step in the group's growth. The carrier would serve a mix of domestic and international destinations from the kingdom's eastern region, he said.
Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hassan, who heads Dammam Airports, said the airline would improve links to the area and fits with the airport company's support for Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 programme.
