Harbour Air to acquire Pacific Coastal Airlines
Canadian carrier Harbour Air plans to acquire Pacific Coastal Airlines and form a new regional airline group, with both brands continuing to operate separately pending regulatory approval.
Harbour Air plans to buy Pacific Coastal Airlines and fold the two Canadian carriers into a new regional airline group, the company said. Both would keep flying under their current brands and, at first, their existing route networks.
The deal still needs regulatory approval. Together the carriers operate 59 aircraft and serve 25 destinations, with plans for as many as 300 flights a day. Harbour Air's business centres on a seaplane network; Pacific Coastal uses conventional aircraft.
Vancouver is to be expanded as the hub of the new group, which also plans a joint loyalty program.
