Aura Aero returns hybrid test aircraft X-Volt to flight
Aura Aero has flown the hybrid-electric X-Volt again, two months after taking over assets from VoltAero. The aircraft will serve as a flying testbed for the company's planned 19-seat regional aircraft.

Aura Aero has returned the hybrid-electric X-Volt to the air, roughly two months after acquiring assets from VoltAero. The aircraft made its first flight in the French manufacturer's colours at Rochefort.
The X-Volt is to be used as a flying testbed for development of the ERA, the regional aircraft Aura Aero plans to build. The ERA is to seat 19 passengers and also use a hybrid-electric power system.
According to the company, it has now carried out more than 350 hybrid-electric and electric flights, counting both the X-Volt work and its all-electric Integral E. Data and experience gathered in those flights are to feed into further development of the ERA.
