Avolon orders 70 Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines for 35 A330-900s
Rolls-Royce has won an order from the Irish leasing company Avolon for 70 Trent 7000 engines, which will power 35 Airbus A330-900 aircraft.

Rolls-Royce has received an order from the Irish aircraft leasing company Avolon for 70 Trent 7000 engines. The engines are intended for 35 Airbus A330-900 aircraft.
Avolon already relies on this engine and airframe combination across a large part of its long-haul fleet, and the order expands that part of its portfolio.
According to Rolls-Royce, an A330neo fitted with Trent 7000 engines burns roughly 14 percent less fuel per seat than the previous generation. The engine draws on technologies from the Trent XWB family and has logged more than five million flight hours since entering service.
The Trent 7000 is currently approved to run on a blend of up to 50 percent sustainable aviation fuel. Rolls-Royce said technical compatibility with neat SAF has already been demonstrated.
