Avolon sells 33 aircraft to Qatari Lesha Bank
Lessor Avolon has agreed to sell a 33-aircraft portfolio to Qatar's Lesha Bank, which will manage the fleet through its aviation subsidiary.
Avolon has agreed to sell a portfolio of 33 commercial aircraft to Qatar's Lesha Bank, the lessor said on Monday. The aircraft are on lease to 25 airlines worldwide.
Lesha Aviation Services, a subsidiary of the bank, will manage the fleet once the deal closes, lifting the number of aircraft it oversees to more than 75.
Neither company disclosed the aircraft types or the purchase price. Avolon called the sale part of a strategy of actively trading aircraft, freeing up capital and investing in new business.
