Azul operates Brazil's shortest domestic route, adds longest in August

According to Azul, its shortest domestic flight in Brazil is a 35-minute hop between João Pessoa and Recife. The airline said two routes tie for second-shortest at 40 minutes each: Campina Grande to Recife, and Monte Dourado to Porto de Moz.

At the other end of the scale, Azul is preparing to launch a new direct service between Campinas and Boa Vista at the end of August. The airline said the flight will take four hours and 45 minutes, making it the longest domestic route in the country once it begins.

Azul also listed other lengthy domestic sectors. Recife to Porto Alegre takes four hours and 30 minutes. Several routes come in at four hours and five minutes, including Recife to Manaus and Belo Horizonte-Confins to Rio Branco.

The figures, provided by Azul itself, span short regional hops and long cross-country journeys on Brazil's domestic network. The airline did not specify aircraft types for any of the routes mentioned.
