Frontier Airlines lowers threshold for top loyalty tier

Frontier Airlines is making its top loyalty tier easier to reach. The airline has cut the qualification threshold for Elite Diamond status, dropping it from 100,000 to 75,000 Elite Status Points, effective immediately, according to Frontier.

The change was announced in Denver on August 27. Frontier said it would also raise the rate at which members earn miles and points, but that part of the change won't take effect until tickets are purchased from September 1, 2026.

The airline described the move as a way to give frequent flyers a quicker path to its highest tier. The announcement did not mention any other changes to the structure of the Frontier Miles program.

It's not yet clear how the earning-rate increase will be calculated, or whether other tiers of the program will see similar adjustments. Frontier did not specify either detail in its announcement.
