Boeing 787-10 takes over routes once served by Airbus A350
The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner has been increasingly deployed on routes previously operated by the Airbus A350, according to an analysis of fleet and scheduling data.

The Boeing 787-10 has replaced the Airbus A350 on certain routes. The two are not direct competitors: the 787-10 is smaller than the A350-900, which is smaller than the A350-1000. Still, airlines have shifted some A350 routes to the 787-10. The A350 burns more fuel and offers more range and payload capacity. But the 787-10 is cheaper to run on many routes, which suggests operators now favor operating economics over maximum capability on some long-haul sectors.
