Boeing expects 737 Max 10 certification soon, deliveries still set for 2027
Boeing chief executive Kelly Ortberg said only three items remained open with the FAA for the 737 Max 10 submission, though the agency still has to review extensive documentation. Deliveries of the largest 737 Max variant remain planned for 2027.
Boeing chief executive Kelly Ortberg said at a conference on Wednesday, 16 September, that certification of the 737 Max 10 should come soon after years of delays. Only three points had remained open in the company's submissions to the US Federal Aviation Administration, he said.
The FAA must still review extensive documentation before approval. Europe's Easa also carried out flights with the aircraft this week.
Boeing finished the certification flight tests at the end of July. First deliveries of the largest variant in the 737 Max family are still planned for 2027.
More than 1,400 orders are on the books, according to Cirium data. Ortberg said the Max 10 accounts for roughly 30 percent of Boeing's remaining order backlog.
