Bombardier invests about $50 million in Wichita expansion and training centre

Bombardier is putting roughly $50 million into its Wichita, Kansas site, including a new training centre for aircraft technicians and an expanded wheel and tyre shop.

Bombardier is putting about 50 million dollars, roughly 43 million euros, into its Wichita, Kansas facility. Part of that has paid for a new training centre, which the Canadian business jet manufacturer has now opened.

The North American Learning Center is Bombardier's first company-run training centre for newly hired aircraft technicians and mechanics from across the United States. The company says it is meant to cover the staffing needs of its growing maintenance and service network.

The investment also covers an expansion of the wheel and tyre workshop, which will gain capacity for maintaining and overhauling aircraft components.

Wichita is home to Bombardier's US headquarters and its Bombardier Defense division. About 1,500 people work at the site, and roughly 3,500 across ten US locations.
