British Airways to Launch Gatwick–Kilimanjaro–Zanzibar Route in 2027
British Airways will begin a triangular service between London Gatwick, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in May 2027, its first return to Tanzania after more than a decade, alongside new Latin American routes.

British Airways has announced schedule changes for the summer 2027 season. They include a new triangular route linking London Gatwick with Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar.
The service begins May 29, 2027, and will operate three times a week with Boeing 777-200(ER) aircraft, configured with 272 seats across three cabins: Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller. Flights run throughout the summer season, ending October 31, 2027. The westbound leg from Zanzibar back to Gatwick will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
According to the airline's press release, the route will make British Airways the only carrier flying between the United Kingdom and Tanzania, and the fifth European airline to serve the country.
Separately, British Airways will adjust its services to Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Saint Lucia and the United States.
A new London Heathrow–Buenos Aires–Santiago route is planned to start on March 28, 2027, with seven weekly flights. The London–Buenos Aires leg, routed through Brazil since October 28, 2023, will return to a nonstop schedule. That arrangement, which initially went via São Paulo and later Rio de Janeiro, is to remain in place until March 27, 2027.
