Canada takes delivery of first two Pilatus PC-21 trainers
The Royal Canadian Air Force has received its first two Pilatus PC-21 training aircraft, which will be designated CT-157 Siskin II in Canadian service.
The Royal Canadian Air Force has accepted its first two Pilatus PC-21 aircraft. In Canadian service the trainer carries the designation CT-157 Siskin II.
The fleet is to total 19 aircraft, all of which will be based at Moose Jaw and used for pilot training.
The PC-21 is also intended to form the basis for the future aircraft of the Snowbirds aerobatic team, which currently flies the jet-powered CT-114 Tutor. The team will stand down after its final appearance in November, with the pause potentially lasting until 2030. The Canadian government is still working on the procurement of additional PC-21s specifically for the team.
