Daher expects first US-built TBM turboprop in August 2027

Daher plans to roll out the first TBM turboprop assembled at its Stuart, Florida site in August 2027, with the plant eventually capable of up to 30 aircraft a year alongside its Tarbes factory in France.

Daher Aircraft expects the first TBM-series turboprop built at its new Florida site to roll out in August 2027, chief executive Nicholas Chabbert said. Speaking at a briefing on 19 October ahead of the NBAA-BACE exhibition, he said production at the Stuart facility on Florida's east coast should begin around mid-2027, on schedule.

The plant is intended to build up to 30 aircraft a year eventually. That adds to output from Daher's existing TBM factory in Tarbes, France, which can produce about 60 aircraft annually. Daher bought the Stuart site from Triumph Group in 2022; it also supplies components to Boeing and Gulfstream.

Across the TBM and Kodiak lines, Chabbert said the company is working toward a combined target of 100 aircraft a year. Daher also aims to say more next summer about its electric aviation work, with further detail expected in 2027.

On the Kodiak side, the manufacturer is seeking more sales of the 100- and 900-series, positioning them for special-mission government work. Paul Carelli, Daher's senior director of multi-missions and business development, said the effort began with surveillance tasks and has expanded into a broader government focus. Partners can fit special-mission Kodiaks with communications systems, lidar and radar. Daher acquired Kodiak, which builds the models in Sandpoint, Idaho, from its founders in 2019.
