Delta to launch three domestic routes, boost Los Angeles frequencies

Delta Air Lines said on Friday that it will add three domestic routes, two of which will link its Los Angeles International Airport hub to other cities.

Twice-daily flights between Los Angeles and Monterey, California, begin December 19. Delta Connection will fly the route with Embraer E175 aircraft.

A mainline service connecting Los Angeles and Philadelphia is set to begin June 7, 2027, in time for the summer season. It will operate once a day with Airbus A321neo jets.

Delta will also launch a daily Salt Lake City to Monterey service on December 19.

Amy Martin, the airline's vice president of network planning, said the carrier is putting more capacity into ways for customers to reach destinations across California. She said the two Monterey services, together with the airline's continued expansion at Los Angeles, give travellers more connection options and reflect a long-term commitment to the city and the wider West.

The carrier is adding frequencies on a number of routes out of Los Angeles as well. Its service to Boston will rise to five flights a day, while Raleigh-Durham in North Carolina goes to two. San Diego also moves to five daily flights, Seattle to eight, and Houston to three. Cincinnati, Ohio, will be served twice a day and San Antonio three times a day.
