Easyjet chief criticises UK air traffic control after second outage

easyJet chief executive Kenton Harvis has criticised the UK's air traffic control provider NATS after another technical failure. An outage at the Prestwick control centre on 21 September caused delays and cancellations in UK air traffic. A separate technical fault at NATS had already disrupted flights on 8 September.

Harvis said NATS told him the two incidents were not connected. That gave him little reassurance. Two different outages within two weeks showed that infrastructure central to UK air traffic was not resilient enough, he said. Harvis made the comments on LinkedIn.
