Emirates will expand into medical tourism, signing a memorandum of understanding with the Medical Tourism Association to become a preferred airline for medical and wellness travel.

Emirates plans to move into medical tourism. At the Arabian Travel Market trade fair the airline signed a memorandum of understanding with the Medical Tourism Association, making Emirates the preferred airline for international medical and wellness travel under the agreement.

The two partners intend to identify key markets and travel flows, particularly in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, and to develop tailored offerings for patients, doctors, insurers, and companies. They also aim to strengthen Dubai as a destination for medical treatment and wellness travel. Emirates is seeking to become the first airline worldwide to receive accreditation from the Global Healthcare Accreditation.
