Six bidders remain in Azores Airlines privatisation
Six of eight interested parties have met the requirements to proceed in the sale of Azores Airlines, with non-binding offers due by 21 September.

Six of the eight parties interested in buying Azores Airlines have met the conditions set for the privatisation process, its parent company SATA Holding said. The rest have until 21 September to submit non-binding offers.
At least 75 per cent of the carrier is to be sold. The sale is part of a SATA group restructuring plan approved by the European Commission in 2022, after the group received €453.25 million in state aid. A previous attempt to sell the airline fell through.
In the first half of 2026, Azores Airlines lost €37.1 million. It carried about 701,000 passengers across 5,037 flights in that period.
