Epic Flight Academy Opens Applications for Annual Aviation Scholarships

Epic Flight Academy is taking applications for its annual aviation scholarship program. U.S. high school juniors and seniors who want to become pilots or maintenance technicians are eligible. The school said this is the 11th year it has offered the scholarships and that it has provided more than $590,000 to 52 high school students over that period.

This year the academy plans to award $85,000 in pilot training scholarships and $60,000 in aircraft mechanic scholarships. Pilot scholarships are open to juniors and seniors. Maintenance scholarships require applicants to be current high school seniors. The deadline is October 1.

Founded in 1999, Epic Flight Academy operates 11 training facilities in the United States: nine flight schools and two maintenance technician schools. Cindy Lovell, the school's director of education, said applicants come from all around the country and the application process is straightforward.
