Germany dominates world glider aerobatics championships in Fayence
German pilots swept the podium in the Advanced class at the world glider aerobatics championships, while a 21-year-old Czech won the top class title.
Germany collected multiple medals at the world glider aerobatics championships in Fayence, France. German pilots swept the Advanced class podium: Tobias Ohlig, 50, took the title ahead of Nick Charly Weiss and Stefan Zistler. Germany also won the team standings there, ahead of Romania and Poland.
In the top class, the world champion title went to the Czech pilot Oliver Adamy, 21. Germany's Michael Spitzer placed second, ahead of Poland's defending champion Maciej Pospieszyński. The Czech Republic won the team standings, with Germany second and Poland third.
The competitions were held from 2 to 12 September.
