Etihad Airways has unveiled a revamped onboard product called Beyond Borders, covering first, business and economy classes, at the Arabian Travel Market trade show in Dubai on September 14, 2026. The airline said the initiative extends past the cabins to airport lounges, dining and inflight connectivity.

Etihad's Airbus A330-900neo will be the first aircraft to receive the new cabins in a line-fit installation, due to enter service in the fourth quarter of 2027. The Abu Dhabi carrier ordered 15 of the type in November 2025, six directly from Airbus and nine through the leasing company Avolon, as part of its growth strategy.

The airline is adding first class seats, including on the regional and medium-haul markets where the A330-900s are mainly allocated, in a bet on premium travel demand. Each A330-900 Beyond Borders cabin will have four first class suites with closing doors and space for two passengers to dine or socialise together, alongside 24 lie-flat business class seats with direct aisle access.

Beyond Borders will next be fitted on the airline's A321LR aircraft. According to ch-aviation data, Etihad operated 12 of the 30 A321LRs it has ordered as of September 2026. The airline said the performance of the A321LR configured with a first class cabin encouraged it to extend the proposition to shorter segments.
