Eurowings A320 returns to Düsseldorf and diverts to Paris in two separate incidents

A Eurowings Airbus A320 returned to Düsseldorf shortly after takeoff on Tuesday, 22 September instead of continuing to its planned destination, Brindisi. The aircraft, registration 9H-EUX, was operating flight EW9854. The Lufthansa subsidiary said the jet turned back as a precaution after light smoke developed onboard. Two passengers were taken to hospitals as a precaution.

The next day, Wednesday, 23 September, a different Eurowings A320 diverted to Paris while flying from Düsseldorf to Alicante. That aircraft, registration D-ABNL, was operating flight EW9530. A Eurowings spokeswoman said the reason was a medical incident. The person concerned received immediate care from medical staff after landing in Paris, and the flight continued on to Alicante.
