Eurowings flight returns to Düsseldorf after suspected smoke in cabin
A Eurowings flight bound for Brindisi turned back to Düsseldorf shortly after take-off on Tuesday following a suspected smoke development in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely and no injuries were reported.
A Eurowings flight from Düsseldorf to Brindisi returned to its departure airport shortly after take-off on Tuesday, 22 September, after a suspected smoke development in the cabin.
According to the broadcaster WDR, the crew chose a precautionary landing. The aircraft departed at 16:53 local time with 144 passengers on board.
After landing, the plane stayed on the southern runway for a time while other traffic was handled via the northern runway. Passengers left the aircraft using stairs.
The fire service said there were no injuries. Eurowings then had the aircraft inspected by technicians.
