Eurowings opens plane-naming contest to honour everyday helpers
Eurowings is inviting the public to nominate people who help others for a contest that will see four first names applied to Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline plans to announce the winners in December.
Eurowings is running a competition called "Name a Plane". The first names of four selected people will go on Airbus A320 aircraft in its fleet.
Entries are open from 21 September to 11 October. Anyone can nominate someone close to them and submit that person's story through the airline's website. The carrier says it is looking for people who help others, whether in their family, among friends, in a club, in voluntary work or in everyday life.
A jury will choose four people from the entries, and their first names will be applied to the Lufthansa subsidiary's A320s.
Eurowings intends to announce the winners in December.
