Ground worker seriously injured in accident involving French Bee A350 at Montreal airport

A ground handling worker was seriously injured Monday evening at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport in an accident involving an Airbus A350-900 operated by French Bee, registered F-HREY. The aircraft was preparing to depart as flight BF760 to Paris-Orly.

Airport authorities told public broadcaster Radio Canada that emergency crews responded around 7:30pm local time to what was described as an unfortunate accident involving an aircraft and a member of the airport community. Police said the injured man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Canada's Transportation Safety Board has been notified.

French Bee confirmed a serious accident occurred during pre-departure ground handling of one of its aircraft bound for Paris-Orly. The airline said it involved the aircraft and a pushback vehicle, but that the precise circumstances had not yet been established. The carrier said it was working closely with the airport and Canadian authorities to support those affected and help clarify what happened.

One aviation news outlet, whose account remains unverified, reported that the injured worker may have been a wing walker accompanying the aircraft during pushback, and that he stumbled and ended up under the front landing gear. Passengers reportedly witnessed the accident. One told Radio Canada that several people saw it unfold.
