Guinea launches new national carrier Guinée Atlantique Airlines

Guinea has established a new national airline, Guinée Atlantique Airlines, with plans for domestic and regional services from Conakry.

Guinea has founded a new national airline, Guinée Atlantique Airlines. The official launch was announced on 1 September in Conakry. The carrier initially plans a domestic network linking major cities and economic centres, plus regional connections from Conakry to other West African countries. No details of the planned fleet were disclosed. The airline's website does show images of a Fokker 50 and a Jetstream 32. The new airline is part of the Simandou 2040 development strategy. Previous attempts to establish a lasting national airline after the end of Air Guinée in 2002 had failed.
