ICE trains once more link Cologne to Brussels Airport after 11 years

Brussels Airport has a direct link to the international high-speed rail network again for the first time since 2015. On the morning of September 7, the first ICE train from Cologne arrived at the airport. Deutsche Bahn now runs two daily connections in each direction between Cologne and Antwerp, with a stop at Brussels Airport.

A partnership with Brussels Airlines starts at the same time. Passengers from western Germany can book train and flight in a single reservation. Connections are protected in case of delays, and Miles & More miles can be collected. According to Brussels Airlines, more than 1000 combined tickets have been sold since the partnership was announced in February. The most common onward flight destinations are New York, Accra, and Alicante.
